Have wanted one of these for the past year and my wife bought me one for Xmas. Matter of fact it came today. Ha I got the mail before she did so I was able to scope it out. Now all of you may know or not know doesn't really matter that I really like the CQC14 for edc. Just great ergo's and cuts bigger than it is it seems, or acts bigger than it is.

Well the BH is in a whole nother class of cutting insturment. Handle ergo's are even better imho, nice and dehorned, rounded edges to the g10 and although a short blade it is huge looking! Nice big thick liner lock which may or may not matter depending on who you ask. Lock up tight as a drum with lots of room for liner wear and SHARP! Smooth action etc. etc. Can't get over how big the blade is. Extremely pointy but with good belly. Then I had to give it up for wrapping. Happy camper and worth the wait. Merry Xmas and keepem sharp

Hey Jack, just got back from Mass and don't think I can post pics here at least I never could before. My wife has wrapped it up so no pics til at least tomorrow. I'll email ya some compared to the 14. Merry Xmas and keepem sharp

Talk about a REAL Merry Christmas! Congratulations!

I've been posting about this folder in the forums for a couple of years already. I must say it is one of those impressive designs that's been sadly overlooked, one of those few really practical and tactical designs with a TRULY tough liner lock.

May she serve you well!

Yep, not a bad knife but a couple little things I don't care for. The first being is that when the knife is folded up closed you can press on the blade and get down or upward movement depending on how you are looking at it I suppose. Almost like it isn't catching the ball detent cleanly. Also tried to take it apart as they say you can to just clean it, check how things fit together and relube with mil tech. Can't get it apart. One of the torx seems to be super glued into the frame. I mean I can't budge it for love nor money. Bummed about that.

The positives are that well it is a very big folder for a small knife. The blade is big and wide but short, something like 3.25". Put together with a very high degree of fit and finish too. Liners higly polished, g10 perfectly beveled and the blade is sharp. Grip ergo's are excellant too. Well there you have it. Keepem sharp

Where are you guys buying the Crucible from? The best price I can find on a in-stock Crucible folder is around $155 from Knifeworks. I would love to have one but that's a bit steep.

Thanks,

Clay

I think she paid 149 plus shipping from an ebay vendor. I picked up a nib old stock paragon xo lite folder, plain edge that is well new. Less than 50 bucks. Such a good deal that I bought another for way less than 50. For some reason I can't quite fathom I am really diggin the paragon alot. Still trying to figure that one out. keepem sharp

hey dennis, did you get the big paragon or the little one? i had both and the only problem i had with them is i tjought the liners were too thin. on the blackhawk they might have used loc-tite on the torxs. so where are the pictures?:D

Hey man I'll get pics to ya. Just been to lazy. I have the big Paragon's. I've owned a few of them and truthfully like them. The liner is just perfect on this one I have in hand anyways. It was hitting just left of center when I initially recieved it but took it apart and did the usual thing cleaning and relube with mil tech and voila the liner hits just with full engagement. I check all of my liner locks by spine whacking them. Some people say nay to this but gives me confidence when I know it can take a real good hit out at the tip of the knife and not move. Nope this liner lock is one of the best I have seen. It seems the whole edge of the liner lock is engaging the tang not just part of it.

Bought my second one for 40 bucks on a best offer thing and the fella took it. I know for a fact also that the very first paragon I had with the black hard chrome would fail. Had to send it back when they were in business and that is when I got to talk to Randall King. He made it right. Hey beats me but I am liking it more and more. Seems to me it would make a good impact weapon too. Just my opinion though. I'll get pics of both of them to ya. keepem sharp
