Finally got a Black Jack neck knife. Its going to compete with my Izula to see which one becomes my EDC back pocket carry knife.
Been carrying the Izula with factory scales for appox. 2 years in my off side back pocket. Very fast to deploy by reaching into back pocket and pushing sheath off with my thumb.
I just got the Black Jack with scales, really like the blade and handle shape. So far I can get it sharper than the Izula, unfortunatley it did not come very sharp. I like the handle and blade shape better than the Izula, but was dissapointed that the black coating thats on a portion of the blade and handle is not nearlly as durable as the finish on the Izula.
I actually like the sheath on the Izula much better than the Black Jack....much easier to deploy than the Izula from my back pocket than it was with the Black Jack. The plus for the Black Jack sheath is that it is quite a bit flatter and looks nicer.
Maybe with time the Black Jack sheath will become easier with use and practice, or I can modify it.
Except for the few minor complaints mentioned, I really like the looks and feel of the Black Jack and the 154CM took an awesome edge.
