Hi everyone
I was in a store and they had a mint to new blackjack mamba folder with cocobolohandles there for about 80$, is that too much to pay or close to a bargain. the knive was made in japan

thanks in advance

Matthias

The Mamba folder series included several models from re-curves to stilleto styles and several blade lengths.

What was the blade length?
What shape did the blade have?
Did the handle have bolsters or not?

You'll need to add a little more info before anyone can give you a decent reply to your query.

Matt I have several Blackjack folders with either zytel or steel handles with neoprene inserts. I think they are great knives. IIRC, the cocobol handled knives were made in relatively small numbers compared to other handle types and were considerable more expensive. As Bernard Levine often says, a knife is worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay. Eighty $s for a BJ cocobolo folder sounds like an very good price to me.

That sounds like a good buy.
I have that same version in a rubberized(Kraton, I believe) grip and I paid almost $90.00 for it. It is a great collector's piece or a great user. I've retired mine to the collector box and still break it out to admire it on occasion.
A good find Matt!;)

all the best,
Mike U.
