Do you guys take it off or leave it on? Pros and cons? Does the lanyard become more broken in (flimsy, not loosened) after a while so it doesn't stick straight out of your pocket? Thanks!

I've removed the lanyards from my small Sebbie and Umfaan.
Some like them, some don't.

I took it off my small sebenza as it was going in my pocket or IWB but I have left it on my large and taken the clip off as it lives in an old style CRK sheath.

It would be pretty hard, if not imposible on the belt, to get a small sebie out of the new style sheath if the lanyard was taken off as it sits so far down inside.

I removed the lanyard on mine. It did get softer, but it also became quite dusty and ugly. It was also inconvenient when taking the knife apart for cleaning.

I've always left the lanyard on. I grab the lanyard to help remove the knife from my pocket.

Take the lanyard off throw it in the laundry a couple times. The cord will soften up a bit from the washing.

No lanyard on the Large because it often goes butt=end first into a beautiful G2 (Gary Graley) sheath.

The Umfaan goes pivot-side first into its G2 sheath, and Gary fixed me up with the coolest soft leather lanyard. That one's a keeper.

Personal preference, but on my small I took it off. I just use the pocket-clip and didn't really like it hanging out of my pocket.

Well, I used to use my Sebenza without the lanyard. Recently, however, I've tied one on and begun carrying it that way. Seems to help pulling the knife out of my pocket with my weak (left) hand if my right hand is inconvenienced. But, deep down, I think I'll remove it again. It just gets in the way when using it.
I'm so fickle.

I took the lanyard off to disassemble and refurb the knife. Too lazy to put it back on.

Maybe some Sunday when there's nothing much 'ado, I'll take out the instruction sheet and work on it. I hesitate, cause I don't think it will be anywhere as well tied as from CRK. :(

I like the black fob/lanyard on my Sebenza knives. It is convient to remove the knife from the CRK leather pouch and feels secure when using the knife.

Must figure a way for attachment to the Mnandi.

Regards,
FK
