Hello knive lovers!
Does anyone here own knifes with maroon micarta scales? How does it look actually? I have seen pictures and video of maroon micarta scales but they all look different. Some very dark. And some are bright. Well, i prefer a dark one. But i really wanna know its actual true color. The reason i am asking because i just bought 3 knifes from BarkRiver and they all scales using maroon linen micarta. They are still on the way and i have not received it yet. Well, i decided to choose maroon linen micarta cause i thought the color is closer to dark-wood-like compared to black linen. But then i saw many pictures and feel a little sorry for my self i have choosen the maroon linen instead of black. I now i am worried that i am gonna hate the color once i received it. But..i wish the maroon linen on my knifes is dark. So probably i will like it more than black?

Anyone have them both with maroon linen and black linen micarta scales?. What do you think the maroon linen color? Are they actually nice? I hope i did make a good choice.

Thanks! Have a good day!

Regards,
Yon

Bark river usually polishes theirs, so it'll probably be pretty dark. I've never had a bark river, but I've owned a few GECs in Maroon and they were all very dark.

I've never owned a Maroon Micarta Bark River but I think the depth of color will vary by manufacturer and possibly by each individual knife. I think you will just have to wait and see what they look like when they arrive.

Thanks for the reply!
I wish they all came with a very dark maroon linen color. That's what i like! :) The more i see the black linen one, the more i like it because black color is more neutral color in my opinion. But also, i feel like black linen color is too common so that is why i choose the maroon linen.

With polished micarta scales, are the color is gonna be darker after long time use? What do we use to take care of the scales? can i use someting like WD40 spray? Thanks again.

Yon

I agree with the two above. Micarta color can vary quite a bit. That said, because brkt does polish their handles I'm betting they will be dark as well.

Yep. Micarta varies quite a bit. Even on the same knife if a solvent is used on it to clean it.

Thanks for the reply guys!
Yes. The picture above is what i was saying. Lights can change the maroon color. That's why i confused. All i can do is to wait until its arrived. Hopefully i like it. Seems to me maroon linen micarta gives a little more "soul" to the knife? Maybe just me who think like that. :D But it does looks a little more classy i would say. Can't wait to see it with my own eyes!
