Ordered some micarta scales from eBay seller lmf_knives. Came yesterday and I installed them. Fit and finish on them is superb. Here are a few pics..

They are not oem Kabar micarta, no...

Description from the bay...again...couldn't be happier with them.

"Lucky’s is proud to offer these handmade black canvas micarta knife scales for Becker BK2-12 knives. This double black micarta has black thermoset resin and black canvas. These include all stainless steel fasteners, so they'll never rust!

They have a similar profile as the original scales***, so they fit great, and snap in the BK2 sheath and all other sheaths that work with the stock Becker setup. These have been polished and then bead blasted to provide a unique look and great grip. .

100% satisfaction guarantee! If you don’t like them, return them for a full refund!!!

They install in minutes using the supplied stainless steel allen screws and press fit nuts (already installed). (black fasteners will be sent standard unless otherwise noted)

I test fit each handle on my BK2 to ensure they fit right. Please note that due to variances in the material I get, and the fact that these are handmade, each knife scale is unique. I make every effort to ensure they all closely resemble the pictures.

*** The micarta sheets I buy are made in the USA and are 3/8” thick. Some parts of the stock Becker scales are 0.4” thick, so my scales will be about 0.02” thinner in some areas. I have also sloped back the rear quillon (the area behind the pinky finger). I believe this makes them more comfortable for larger hands and when holding the knife at an angle. "

Nice. I have all the stuff to make my own. I only have to find the time. It will be difficult to find it with a new baby in the house. But. That's getting easier to manage, so who knows...

Good looking 10!

Those do look really nice. And I like the idea of "sloping back the rear quillon" ....seems like it would slim the girth near the smallest part of your grip.

Perhaps this is a poor intro post (I joined about a month or so ago now) but I just wanted to chime in on these scales. I bought one set of the aforementioned black micarta scales for my Ritter RSK MK2/BK12 and liked them so much, I bought another set for my BK5, and will probably set my BK2 and BK2SG up with them as well. I don't mean to offend anyone here, but in my opinion, the way these handles fit is FAR superior to the Ka-bar factory micarta. They're also not as 'fuzzy' as some of the micarta I've seen, but have killer grip. Plus, I really like the way the nut is permanently fixed into one side of the handle. I wish these guys made micarta scales for the BK 15/16/17 series- I'd be all over them!

Yeah. I can't say I've ever had the original kabar micarta, but these are awesome. LOVE the look and feel.

Indeed, they are awesome! I used to be partial to wood scales (bought at least 6 sets from Tommy The Who!), but those "Lucky's" scales made me appreciate micarta on my Beckers.

And by the way, nice blade, sir!
