Black "Military" etching with incomplete "A"...

One more thing about the laser-etching on Military model. Why is it that the "A" in "MILITARY" etched on blade is incomplete? It doesn't sport the horizontal line in the middle of the letter...

Was this done on purpose for aesthetic purposes, or a "gaffe" over at the factory plant?

Anyone? Sal?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Flood. I just decided to leave it out. There's nuthin' on the Military that doesn't need to be there.

Thanks for your quick response, Sal. I just bought one and the scanned pictures just piqued my interests.

IMO, I think it is rather cool looking! Gives it that "distinctive" look.

ROFLOL!!!! Not that's what I call minimalism!!! That extra piece of letter surely would have thrown off the balance of the knife. Not to mention all of the manufacturing time trying to get the little bar burned onto the blade. And then there's the extra QC step to make sure that the letter is completely legible.

Or maybe…… We’ve been fooled as to what the knife’s actual name is. Could it be that the letter was thrown on upside down, and the knife is actually called the MILITVRY?

I think it's a neat touch. Sort of comparable to early Beatles lore. You know, the whole "secret meaning" thing about the Abbey Road album cover. Was Paul dead? All the rumors.

Here we have a similar mystery from Spyderco. What happened to the A? Here we have a calm answer from the president of the company.

Then again, we had calm answers from John, Paul, Ringo, and George.

And there are still rumors...:D
