I see that the SH Ergo is in green micarta and others are black micarta.

Who have a comparative picture of both knives?
What is the older model, the one with black micarta?

Thanks

They are all black micarta, it is just some look to have a greenish tint to them.

Are you sure, Tim? The scales on my NOe (don't own a SHe) are clearly green.

splash some water or oil on them.....
They should turn black.
Green micarta will stay a darker green.

Most models have been offered with several choices of handle material at the same time. The Black canvas micarta is actually made with green canvas, but looks black. However for a while we had a limited supply of Green Linen Micarta that was available on several models. It was VERY noticably green. Check www.bussecompanystore.com to see if Skunk has any pictures of green linen models up and you`ll see what I mean.
Handle material is a really awkward and ineffective way to try to see how old a model might be, because as I said most of the later models were offered with several choices of handle material.

The micarta on my ergo busse is deffinately green/ pale black color yet on another it's dark grey, almost black. Interesting.

I think the operative term in Dave's explanation is the material type. The green was in linen and not canvas, right Dave? There is a noticeable difference between canvas and linen in appearance. I had an AD with the green linen (alas one of my employees made off with it :() and have a Meaner Streets with the green linen and there is no mistaking it for the black canvas on my SH-E.

I'm pretty sure my ergo battle mistress has green canvas micarta. The fusion line has green linen instead.

I've got a couple like that MikeH, one is flying and the other is a band buster. Excellent blades.

I am reciving a SH E with black micarta, I'll do photo with one with Graysh-green micarta for see difference.

My BA-E slabs are tannish, greenish, and blackish, similar to what Molletta just posted. It is very different than ordinary black canvas micarta, and I believe that several years ago I saw a thread or post about "camo" micarta. There are very distinct green and tan lines, whereas the regular micarta has varying shades of grey and darker grey. Maybe it was a batch of black micarta that came out wrong. Regardless, it is distinctly not standard fare. But it wasn't limited to SH-Es, as i've seen several others from that period, including my own BA-E.
