black oxide on knives

guys
i am referring to the black oxide blades that are available in knives like emerson and sog.
does this coating rub off on the hands on usage?
is it a permanent coating?

Don't know about the SOG, but my Emerson knives has the coating easily stripped off just from carrying it.

Which is why I prefer satin or stonewashed finishes now, as I can typically polish that up and put a mirror finish on the blade.

I much prefer the Tungsten DLC on my ZT 0301, much more durable.
