I got pretty good reviews from the Red Stag Standard Spyderco so I thought I'd share the latest knife Frank Recupero customized for me. The new Toad has had really mixed reviews. I happen to like it. It has a lot of things going for it. It's small like a pen knife, but it features a liner lock and even a full liner. It's a hefty little knive. I didn't care for the stainless steel scales so I sent one to Frank. He made up some stunning scales made up of black pearl in three sections laminated to a sky blue micarta. Of course, he finished it off with some of his excellent file work. It's a pretty nice looking toad, no? A prince maybe? Take care.

Wow, that's very pretty ! If this isn't too personal, could you give an idea of the ballpark we're in as far as cost to do this sort of work ?

I'd suggest you communicate with Frank directly. I don't think it's appropriate for me to price things for him. I conisider the cost to be quite reasonable to end up with a knife that is one of a kind and attractive. You can email him at ats34@webtv.net. If you want to see some other knives Frank has done for me you can select the "custom knifemakers" option from our home page. Take care.

Fred -- Thanks for posting the picture above. Kinldy tell Frank to set up a webpage. His modifications are beautiful...

He only has e-mail, actually. His page is on my site www.knifeoutlet.com/recupero. Incidentally, I have space for more custome knife makers if any are interested. No charge for the placement. Take care.

WOW. I love it! I have not much cared for the look of the Toad, but that is really pretty. I might give the Toad a second thought if it looked like that.

BTW, the URL for Frank's page at your site is www.knifeoutlet.com/recupero.htm
