Im very happy with my black rhino, its very hard to find on here...but i did.

i was planning on taking it on my vacation camping trip but i have a concern.
i have other CS knives that are much more difficult to close. you realy have to push on the lever of a ak47 hard! to be able to close the knife. sometimes it hurts my thumb actually...
With the rhino its very light. so is was wondering of this has an impact on the safety.
If you can close a tri ad lock knife with such a mild push will it also tend to close easier while using it?

If anyone knows, please let me know before i decide to leave it home.

kind regards
robin

Don't worry about it closing on you, do worry about losing it.

I'd suggest the Pocket Bushman as a knife you can take into the great outdoors and if you lose it it doesn't matter. A discontinued knife like the Black Rhino is probably irreplaceable.

I have a Black Rino and it is known that the spring is very light. This does not affect lock strength but you can inadvertently depress the lock and release the blade gripping it in certain ways during use. Be careful.

great replies

thanks guys.

the rhino is going in a special pocket for city trips and "in house"use...but i dO wanna use it.

the pocket bushman is comming for wood and country trips

getting more and more a cold steel fan i must say...didnt like their way of advertising with the testosterone video's and all...but for me its now a fact...they make great knives

Ive been using mine for a few years (once I fixed the moving, edge dulling spring).

I don't think I have taken mine camping, because the Recon 1 is lighter, and I have other camping blades.

its a knife i will be carefull with...the bushman can take the tougher jobs. its more a knife that you feel some pride in owning it?...makes any sense..nice to show it to others..but further than light chores ( how do you spell that) it wont be used...

thinking of selling my extrema ratio RAO and buy a recon tanto and spearpoint in return...and take the rest of the money and treating my kids on a happy meal as well.
the CS knives are just awesome...but i would like a CS line thats just a bit more expensive with wider blades for example or different looks, steel

I really like the CS Talwar. It is next on my list for one handed opening. Flat grind and thump plate.

talwar?...ill check it out.
well im packing the car to go travelin, 2 coldsteels with me so..im ready ;-)

thanks all for the replies

kind regards
robin
