I have a black sable by cold steel. do you guys think that its worth keeping as a collectors piece or if they were both the same price would you take a large spyderco persian over it any day of the week?

what i mean is that i want your opinion to have nothing to do with the factthat yu could sell it and by 3 persians with the money.

You probably won't be able to sell the Black Sable for anywhere near what you paid for it. Also, the Persian and Sable are both very different knives. If you've got big hands, and you find it comfortable, keep the sable, The persian isn't anywhere near as big. If it's too big for you, then I'd sell it. I don't really see either of these knives having any kind of major collector value.

Do you like it (the Black Sable)?

If yes, keep as a "collector." If no, sell it.

Collections should be made up of what you like, as value of anything in the future is uncertain.

Everyone that has handled that knife seems to say its very nice but for the money it damn well better be. It is a loss from the moment you buy it though. I doubt you could sell it for half what you paid for it but there may be someone looking for one that would happily take it for that or maybe even 3/4s of the price if they are in the market for one in the first place.

There are a lot of knives in that price point I'd rather spend the money on than that one but I'm sure it is a rock solid performer and for the most part will hold its own with any user out there. If it were me I'd just keep it and use the daylights out of it. Having had many of the Cold Steel knives apart to look them over inside and out I can tell you if there is one thing they do right it is their locks. For the most part they are one of the most consistant right up there with Spyderco in lock performance.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!

DANTHEMAN123,

If you like the Black Sable, keep it and keep using it. Get a Persian, too, and sell off the one you don't like.
