Finished up this fighter yesterday except for putting on the edge. Its got a 11 1/4 hand forged W-2 blade and a black tale deer crown handle. The guard and butt cap are iron from a buggy wheel. The spacer is wrought iron. Overall this knife is just over 16".

Good Lord, Ray...

That ain't a knife! That's a dang short-sword!!!!:D

And a beaut, too!!!!

And ya could pick your teeth with that one, too!!!!

Glad to see you're still keeping busy, Ray, and it show's! Nice looking work all the way around, from the handle form and proportion, through the guard and into a great blade... What'cha bringing to Eugene this year?

See ya!

Beautiful work. I love the lines, and especially the hamon. Great job.

If I may ask, what techniques did you use to bring the hamon out?

This was one of those blades that you didn't want to finish. After I got the blade finished and started to put it together it started to come to life. Knives like this one make making them so much more fun. I appreciate the comments!

Joe, I'll have ample knives at the OKCA Show. Plan was to enter this knife in the competition there.

Dave, I used an Fc etch and a lot of elbow grease to bring out the hamon.

love it. That is a pointy one! I really like how the spine of the blade matches up with the gentle downward sweep of the handle.

That's a "reach out and touch someone" piece if I ever saw one. Nice work Ray.

Roger
