Check it out. Here's a fighter I made out of some W1 I got from Deker. After some HT advice from both him and Don Hanson, I'm getting some good hamon out of it. Plus, it's nice to work with. Nickel silver guard, rabbeted tang, black linen micarta. Enjoy!

Salem that looks like a very sleek quick agile fighter. Love the lines and the handle profile is excellent.

Seeing the name; my first thought was of the Robert Ruark novel that was set in Kenya; about the Mau Mau uprising.
But the google tells me it is more likely the reggae group.
Which ever; the knife is lovely.

Nice fred, I see you are a reader. I haven't read that one, but have a big library at home... I did like "Out of Africa" a lot, wasn't that set in eastern Kenya? you're right, it was more the reggae group.
