Black vs CF textured scale color

Those of you who have both, is there a noticeable difference in the colors? Does the CF weave really stick out or do you have to look closely to see a difference? I've looked at countless pics on the net but it seems to depend a lot on lighting and angles.

I'm deciding on whether to order a textured CF as those seem to be the only ones available, though I'd prefer a smooth. (if anyone has or knows where to get one, let me know please  )

That looks pretty good, thanks for the pics. I can defintely see some gray coming through on that one.

The textured is certainly more subdued than the smooth.

^^love those photos!

It took a lot to get Pond off one of my favorite 3.5s...no matter what other color I tried, Pond found its way back. Then, textured C/F got a chance...only thing to unseat it will be textured Ti.

The textured CF is a great scale, the colour overall has a dark grey shade compared to black G10.

The weave does not stick out as in strand ends but does have a very grippy tactile feel to it, it feels good in hand.

Black G10 tends to fade and dry out leaving what looks like a crusty white residue in the crests of the pattern, WD40 does temporarily restore the look back to a deep solid colour (shade) The textured CF suffers none of these issues, it is very resilient stuff.

A few older shots.

Some great pictures there guys, awesome! Thanks to a great board member, I have a smooth CF scale on the way, the one I really wanted!

While the textured is nice as well, it's just not different enough for me from the black G10.

Here's a pic of the textured CF I just got, I just put it on but really digging it so far - it's kind of "shimmery"/silvery depending on how the light hits it..
