I liked the raven, but I would think the blackbird is thinner. Anyone used/had one yet? What did y'all think?
I have not heard too much about it.
thanks,

Yeah Baby..
I purchased the Blackbird about a week ago, and I love it...

I prefer its slimmer handle config then the Raven, and also the G-10 is a much better feeling handle material....it is also good especially serving as a knife which you can carry if you do not want it to be too obvious...just clip it right on to the lowest seam of your side pockets, and the handle seems to just disappear into the fabric with only a little point sticking out...the handle is also pointed at the end, and this design coupled with the G-10_Titanium handle_liner configuration gives you the additional option of using it as a skull crusher..the handle is almost as comfortable as the Commander's, and if you look closely, it actually looks like a much slimmer commander handle...without sacrificing much of the ergonomics, if any at all.......

All in all, this knife is great to use as your EDC, or as a backup weapon....furthermore, due to its lighter blade-handle feel, its well suited for penetration style uses...and personally, i like this knife without the wave feature as it suits you if you are using the stabbing technique which is similar to a saber grip with the exception that your index finger and thumb switch roles...in this case, your whole arm acts as a spear, well suited for penetrations.....with the wave there it might just make it a little more uncomfortable...

On the other hand, if you are simply looking for a slim "Gentleman's Tactical Folder", it suits that role just fine too...I even polished the Clip, and all the screws, including the pivot screw, the scale screws, and the clip screws...all to a mirror shine, and I really like that combination of "Silver set in Black" look...

just my opinions anyway...
go get one...i'm sure you won't be dissapointed...

btw, mine is a Tanto Point, serialized Satin Half-Serrated version

take care!

I'm getting one with a plain edge, clip point, Black T. Just wondering if anyone else likes this knife, any other input? Leo G.

Thanks RAYE for the Compliment...I really like the Blackbird design...but for now, my current favourite among the EKI likeup is my PSARK, Great knife...

Mine too Buddy, mine too! I've recently had the luck to acquire a Suspect's SARK/PSARK converson. I beleive it was the first planned aftermarket conversion, which preceeded even the EKI PSARK protos. Thanks to Ed Moses for the opportunity to own a little bit of EKI history.

RAYE, I guess Great minds really think alike...anyway, I'll try to get some pics of my PSARK, which has Green G10 handles, and which I polished the clip, the screws and the thumbstud to a bright Mirror polish....looks kind cool to me, especially with the Polished Thumbstud...

Alright guys enough about the PSARK, I don't have one:( (It's on my list though). Anyone else like the Blackbird? Or is it a "poor stepchild" like the Mach 1, Raven, and Specwar. The Commander and SARK seem to get all the press around here. Opinions? :) Leo G.

LAG3,
Actually, all of the EKI knives are great knives, just that well, the most unique feature about EKI is its patented Wave®, which is why most people tend to go for either the flagship model[Commander], or some other waved model....However, if you are simply looking for a great knife to carry, all of their knives are great...I have the Mach1, Specwar, Blackbird..etc, and I think they are great...it's like for example, if you were to buy a Porsche, the most talked about model would most probably be the 911, whilst models such as the Boxster, the 959, etc...are less commonly mentioned...but, would you say that these were a "lesser car"?...i wouldn't...it essentially boils down to preference, and also the identity with the company...If you were to mention "Commander" & "911" to anyone who knows about cars and knives, they would be able to instantly know which companies you are talking about...
and I would like to re-emphasize my point which is that the Blackbird is really a great knife...go figure...

Where can you see a photo and specs of one? There's nothing on the Blackbird on the Emmerson website.
