has anyone got one of these blades yet? I am seriously considering getting one and cant find much info. on them yet.. Thanks

I don't own one yet, but I have had occasion to inspect (aka play with) the Blackbirds.

I think the G10 and Ti is a huge improvement over the Polymer bodied Raven.

The first thing you notice picking one up is how thin it is. Not left to right thickness, but top to bottom. Damn comfortable knife in the hand.

Over all it's a winner, but . . . and at the possible chance of preaching . . . it needs a "Wave". :D

I got a hold of a Blackbird. And it is quite ergonomic as most Emerson productions are. Sabre or reverse grip, the textured G10 scales will aid in a secure hold. It is also a vast improvment over the soft/ flexy "kydron" scales of the original Raven. However, both the blade stop pin and the rear spacer of the Blackbird could have been made thicker (larger diameter) and longer respectively. I personally believe this would help to minimize varying lockup position and that slight amount of handle flex that is still present. And a tip DOWN carry option would have topped it off nicely. :(

NOTE: the pivot screw is staying put after several hundred openings and closings.

Heyz...I got a Blackbird about a month ago, and I think it is great....the handle not only feels secure when gripping, but is also extremely, with not as pronounced a guard as the Commander...however, i do find that it is a tad harder to flick open the Blackbird then other EKI knives, but on the whole I think it is great, and one of the more easily concealed EKI knives, furthermore, if you hold it closed, you could also deploy it as a YARAWA stick, or as a non lethal contact/impact tool....great purchase...have fun with your new knife!!:D
