Got mine from a store on Ebay....did a lil research before buying....apparently they are a small knife shop in Hanover, MA. Had really good feedback, and have been in business since 2002, so I figured, "what the hell, they seem trustworthy".....granted, I would NEVER do this, as I can't stand Ebay.....but beings everywhere else is backordered on the CQD Mark 1 Type E until mid March, I took the opportunity to do it......just so you know, I called their store today, and they have one more left......thats with mine already having been shipped.

I've had mine for about a week now, I can see it is going to make a great duty knife and for the 70 some I paid for it I don't care about thrashing it. I really look forward to your review.

Anyway you could post some pics of yours? Does fit and finish seem really good? How is the lockup? Is there any blade play?

There is no blade play what so ever it feels fantastic, although this is what I have come to expect from blackhawk after many years using their product i will get some pic up later tonight.

Eh....apparently its also made in Taiwan.....hmmm....I thought it was made in Seki, Japan....like the Crucible was.....:grumpy:

the made in taiwan blackhawk blades are excellent quality. i recently got the blackhawk be-wharned off ebay. its also made in taiwan, but its excellent. the blackhawk products are pretty good. i have the garra 2, bhb30 assisted, and be-wharned, all three are made in taiwan, and all 3 are excellent knives.

I have been using mine pretty hard for a few days now, and it has held up well. No blade play but a couple of times the lock was difficult to unlock. I just ordered a Dozier Bobcat by Ka-Bar. I really like AUS-8 it is super easy to get and maintain a fantastic edge.

Does anyone know how to make photos smaller so I can attach them?

You could try saving them as JPG or another format....or do it in paint.....go to resize, and keep reducing the size by 50% until you get it to a decent size around 800x640 or so....hope this helps. I'm really amped to see some actual pics of the Type E.
