I like the Blackhawk Crucible FX styling a lot, but I would like something a bit bigger and in a different steel. Can anyone recommend a similar looking knife?

Thanks

There isnt much that can be compared to that knife. The ergos are amazing. I love that knife. The emerson PUK bears a little bit of resemblence to it if that helps.

Been a fan on that Kelly McCann collab knife for years (not mine though, only used briefly) and I tend to agree with the above post.

I think it's a great utility EDC because of the blade shape is lot like a pointy chef's knife while the ergo's are simply beyond words (really, you have to hold it to appreciate it!).

The steel is ok and I would've like for longer blade too, but based on the design philosophy of McCann, he wanted something compact to almost always have on you or on a soldier's LBV.

You guys are right. Ergos are amazing. I wish Blackhawk was still using better steel for them. If that were the case, I may just overlook the size thing.

The original FX was ATS-34 and then they switched it to VG10. Now its AUS8. I have both. Kelly has another design coming out that is sick!

^ Holy crap! Thanks for the heads-up!

Even without the "tactical" lineage of the Crucible, it really is one great utility knife. The trade-off between the folder and the FX is that the folder seems to have a "boxy" feel than the FX (it was packaged in a folder afterall). This is why the FX seems to be slighty a step up in the comfy grasp.
