Blackhawk Crucible FX vs. FX2???

Well, I purchased a Blackhawk Crucible FX in VG-10 on the old EBay, but when the knife arrived, it was, as you can probably guess, a Crucible FX2 in AUS-8A!!!! Other than the difference in blade steel, the more expensive one has a Black TI coating, while the less expensive one has a Black Teflon coating.

Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed and contacted the seller who agreed to fix the problem by contacting their supplier. I would return the knife to them, and they would send out the right knife. Good seller.

Now I have a few questions- Do any of you own one or both of these knives, and how different are they in everyday performance? Are the differences great enough to justify the $40 or so difference in price? Also, what are your thoughts on AUS-8A? Seems like it dulls fairly quickly, but would be easier to sharpen vs. the VG-10.

So, should I send it back, or ask for a partial refund in price and take the less expensive knife?

Thanks in advance for your time!

I've owned both and truthfully couldn't tell a whit of difference between the two as they were sitting side by side. Both were made extremely well. The "original" Crucible had ats34 for blade steel and the FX2 had AUS8a. The coating was a bit brighter on the aus8 knife but this is a nit picking point. If laid them side by side and only looked at the knives they were pretty much mirror images of themselves, just very well made. keepem sharp

Was the performance of the VG-10 significantly better than the AUS-8A? If you could only have one of them, which one would it be (taking price into account, of course)?

Corrosion resistance (if that's important to you) are about the same between the two in my experience.

VG-10 will take and hold a better edge.
