What can you guys tell me about the BlackHawk fixed blade CRUCIBLE? Are these any good? Are they well made? Good edge? steel? handle? etc.....THANKS

i think they are "ok" as far as steel/F&F/etc, BUT i think for $160 there is better stuff around.

most of the time a fixed version of a knife will be cheraper vs the folder version, not in this case though.

i would save a little $$ (ie $50 or so) and get a bud nealy custom vs the blackhawk, if it was me anyway.........

Only handled them. The ergonomics are SUPERB, one of a few truly comfortable in both functional/utility AND self-defense in handling.

The price however is indeed a sticky point.

buds stuff also has excellent ergos, and imho his stuff will retain the value better, it would be hard to get your $$ outta a crucible imho, now if the cucible is what ya gotta have, its not bad, its just that there is other stuff imho which for the same dollar or a little more which is a better deal.

Just an observation that it is hard to get money back on ANY used knife, even a Bud Nealy. Most guys are skittish about buying anything with marks of any kind, or especially a resharpened blade. If it just resides in your sock drawer or in a safe, no problem. I have a crucible folder and find it a superb performer for anyone with some blade arts background. Very well engineered and executed. Got mine at EliteTacticalSources.com for $140, incl. shipping...

really?? did ya know ya can send a custom back and most 'smiths will refurbish them to LNIB for ~$25 or so?

try that with a crucible lol.

as i said, imho the crucible is overpriced at $140, or $160, its simply not worth that imho, nothing revolutionary or anything about the design or the materials, not a bad knife by any means, but overpriced imho.
