Has anyone had any experience with these bags? Would they be large enough to carry a change of clothes, martial arts sparring gear (head, kicks, punches, and/or racquetball racquet with safety glasses and balls, and a water bottle? Who offers these for sale at the lowest price? Thanks for any help/input.

They hold a good bit of gear - 2,280 cubic inches worth. That's about the size of an average 3 day pack. It ought to be plenty for your gear.

For space for your dollar, I'd recommend Blackhawk's Large padded cargo bag (3432 cubic inches)

I use a large one for a bug out bag. The padding stiffens it up, so it holds its shape real nice, and there is plenty of space inside and also plenty of space in the pockets outside. It is also a good bit less expensive than the Pro Training Bag. (I personally prefer it to the Pro bag)

For about the same price as the Padded bag you can get the CZ Gear bag.

Not as many bells and whistles as the padded cargo bag but talk about roomy! 8040 cubic inches!

All these bags are made of 1000 denier Nytaneon nylon (read indestructable) have super heavy duty zippers and hardware and are guaranteed for life.

As far as prices go - drop me an e-mail. I'm pretty sure I can do better pricewise than the "others" :)

Hope that this helps.

Thanks for your help, Dan. I've been needing a good bag for my gear for a long time now. I've been using the military issue duffel, and although it's tough as nails I get so tired of digging around in the bottom of it to find stuff. As far as Blackhawk products go, I noticed the 1000 denier nylon construction and I've decided I'd rather spend the $$ to get a really good (and extremely cool) bag, even if I have to wait for an additional paycheck. I don't even know if the pro sports bag will be large enough for all the stuff I need to carry. I like both the large cargo bag and the cz bag a lot. Can you tell me about the large "travel bags"? Are they constructed with 1000 denier nylon? Are they covered with the lifetime warranty? They look sharp. Anyway, I'll check you out when I am ready to buy, as I've read your posts here several times and you have been helpful. Thanks.

All the Blackhawk bags (and products) are made of the 1000 denier Nytaneon Nylon and Guaranteed for life.

The Large travel bag

measures in at 27"x10"15" and is 4,050 cubic inches.

It comes standard with full wrap around carry handles, handle grabber, and shoulder strap with hawktex pad. It has an outside zippered pouch and the opposite side has a small zippered pocket and an open stuff compartment.

Another one to look at is BlackHawk's MOB bag - Large size
20mob1.jpg

The Large: 27 x 10 x 14 Cubes: 3,780

It is designed to be operator friendly as both a gear and travel bag. Can be used universally as a backpack, shoulder bag or just storage bag. Comes standard with 2 shoulder straps to be used over the shoulder or as backpack straps. Both shoulder straps also include Hawk-Tex non-slip shoulder pads. The Large has 3 outide pockets for extra gear storage with quick access.

The MOB bag being the more expensive of the two.

So, to put 'em all together

Sizewise, from largest to smallest it goes like this:

1 CZ Gear bag - 8040 cubic inches
2 Mobile Operations Bag - 3780 cubic inches
3 Large padded cargo bag - 3432 cubic inches
4 Pro training bag - 2280 cubic inches

And pricewise it goes like this. Most to least expensive:

1 Pro training bag
2 Mobile Operations Bag
3 CZ Gear bag & the Large padded cargo bag are the same price.

Have fun!
Hope that this helps!

To give you a size idea of what different bags can carry:

I have two bags that I use as a luggage set when I travel. The 1st is the Diver's Travel Bag ENHANCED w/ Wheels
divebag.jpg

It has 4664 cubic inches of space on the inside, giving me plenty of space to fit a ton of clothes. (the 4 big outside pockets are nice also)

The 2nd is the A.L.E.R.T. Bag
814.jpg

It has 8385 cubic inches of space. Enough for me to fit all my military gear in when traveling (Assault vest, rucksack, helmet, air items, uniforms, body armor - and bunches and bunches more) The only bad thing about a bag that big is the tendancy for it to get very heavy :D but the wheels help out a bunch.

So, around 4000 cubic inches (give or take) ought to give you plenty of room. Feel free to send me a list of what you want to carry (all inclusive) and I'll try to figure out which bag from the last post would fit your needs the best.

Have fun!
