I've been looking for a way to attach a hawk to a pack or carry on belt that was both easy to get to and secure for brush busting. After much looking around I realized that with a little bit of modification Blackhawk made the perfect hawk carrier.
Had one of their single mag pouches that goes on a mole vest laying around and decided it would work great. My apologies but in my excitement and haste I didn't get any before pics. Here is the after.
First thing I did was cut out the bottom of the pouch.
I then cut the flap in the middle, sewed it into 2 loops and put some paracord so it would fit over the hawk.
The nice thing is that if I'm using the hawk over and over and want to be able to drop it back into the carrier I can by simply putting the flap down first then just drop the hawk in through the loop.
This pouch is setup for molle straps so I added a loop of leather with a snap tomake it easy to get on and off a belt.
So far I'm very pleased with this project. I have one attached to my bug out bag and one I can put on a belt.
