Here's a little something different that I received in the mail today. I don't normally go for fixed blades, but something about this knife called to me. A2 blade, stag handle, and aluminum furniture. It won't get as much use as my slipjoints, but I can't wait to use it during one my hikes this summer.

This knife is very well put together. Fit and finish is first rate. The blade is convex ground, and is very sharp. The stag handle, while beautiful, is not quite symmetrical as it is thicker in the middle on one side. It fills the hand nicely though and feels incredible when I hold it. I hope it feels as good during use.

The sheath is also a quality piece. The leather used in its construction is pretty thick and the stitching is nice and even. I have one complaint, the belt loop is IMO unnecessarily wide and will probably make it a difficult task to secure the sheath on a belt.

Here are a couple of pics of the knife.

Kamagong, have you had a chance to use this beauty, and what do you think of it?

Sorry Jeff, but I haven't been able to put this knife through its paces yet. Now that I have a baby I just can't seem to find the time to do the things I used to like going on a hike or to the range.

It's really a well made knife though. Stout and sharp. The 125 has a pretty thick blade, but the convex cross-section thins it out nicely. I tested it out in the kitchen a bit and it zips right through steaks.

I'll let you know when I put it to some real work.

I've got some older Blackjacks that are absolutely superb. The A2 steel and the convex grind work out perfectly.

I have owned a few of the older blackjacks, and I can tell you that they are supurb knives...and have a strong following...nice knife!!
