Hello, haven't posted in a LONG time, mostly due to work. Anyways, it's good to be back. Can anyone please tell me about the Blackjack AWAC? I saw one for sale at around $75 and thought about buying it. I remember back in the day when the company was still in business and me drooling over the AWAC in the Cutlery Shoppe catalogs (BTW, they still in business too?) but not having enough cash for one as I was still in college at the time. These days I have some disposable income and wanted to get one. What do you guys think?

The knife really wouldn't be for hard use I suppose as I have a Strider MT and a Maddog Lab Rat for those purposes. Just wanted to see if it was a quality item and if $75 was a fair price. Thanks!

My apologies. I just did a forum wide search and it seems I asked this question a few years ago. Must have forgotten. Anyways, after reading the responses, there was really no consensus on the AWAC with some liking it and others not. Has anyone done any testing with it as to it's quality, etc? If so, please post. Thanks again!

I always liked the looks of the AWAC....but I wished that Blackjack would have made it of their carbon steel rather than the 440A that it was comprised of. I understand that BJ cryo'ed the AWAC and it cut pretty well.

I did not like the way the fingergroove was designed....it forced my hand to butt into the guard. I also thought the guard was too small for the knife.

Not bad for $75 as a collector. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the knife as a 6.

Head on over to Knife Forums to access the Blackjack Forum. The guys there specialize in answering questions about the knives they love.
