I have a BlackJack Model 1-7 Effingham made that is MINT NEW IN ORIG. BOX. The blade does not have the common dull opaque blade polish. It has a high gloss mirror polish finish that is 100% original as the blade etchings are not disturbed as if by an amateur trying to buff the blade. Anyone know if this was a special company presentation, or gift to a large retail customer. THANKS!! Please answer to jsfischer1@aol.com

This isn't the For Sale forum and you need a Gold or higher level membership to sell here.

I found an old thread here from years back that makes mention that the high polish finish was rarer, that's about all I could find.

Asking members to reply thru e-mail might have looked a little fishy.

blackjack model 1-7 high polish gives a lot of results in a search. Do you have more than one knife or are you comparing to online images. Sometimes those shots are edited or manipulated before posting, or it could be an unintended digital artefact, or it could be the screen you're viewing the image on.

Can you post some photos of your actual knife here. Large in focus and well lit; outdoors in daylight can work well. You can host very large files to Imgur. Then you should see some more detailed feedback.

Mr. Fischer, I believe that should cover it.

And just so nobody thinks I'm trying to buy your knife, I will reply here.
I've never heard of any Blackjack blades with a mirror polish, but that really doesn't mean anything. It would probably enhance its collector value, should you decide, in the future, to part with it.

Thanks "justjed",

I've heard about them, but never seen one. It's a deep mirror polish done by blackjack. I would like to know if they were perhaps a gift to an executive, or present to a big retail account. I jus acquired it, so not for sale for some time. I've just started inquiring about it. For 40+ years I've been an advanced collector of only high condition Allied Military Fighting Knives 1941-1975, and military historian. Blackjack Effingham Fighters are new to my collection. I like them as they are very high quality, American made, and remind me of the Randal's in my collection.
Regards,
~John
