Anyone have one? I was looking at splurging and getting the Model 125 with stacked leather. This would be the most expensive knife I'd buy to date and I wanna know if they're worth the money? Thanks in advance guys!

I dont own a Blackjack 125 but it looks like a pretty close version of the Randall #25-5 Trapper wich is an excellent hunting knife.i've used mine evey year that i've been abel to get out during hunting season. I gotta say these BJ 125's look sweet, if i could swing it i would pick one up in a heart beat. a Quality knife at less than half the price of a randall. I think the Blackjack knives are manufactured by
Mike Stewart at BRKT so Craftsmanship is going to be excelent. they may also carry the same type gaurentee,I dont no this for a fact maybe some one else can chime in. if you like the knife i'ed say go for it. it looks like a good hunter/woods knife

I own a 125 in stag and a 1-7 in green micarta sabre grip. Both are very beautiful knives and the equal of many customs costing twice as much.
I recommend you get one for sure . . . it won't be your last!

Thanks guys for the feedback! I'm gonna grab one and I was thinking about the leather handled one. But I was just wondering if you have to do anything special with leather? And if you guys had any other handle suggestions that be great!

For the leather I would put a thin coating of clear paste wax on, let it dry and buff it down. Should look like new for quite a while.

Blackjack 125 is a great knife. It's one of my primary hunting knives. A2 is great steel and the 125 is a wonderful size. Great for gutting, skinning and butchering animals. Makes quick work on deer and I expect would be great on larger animals as well. comes with great convex edge and takes a razor edge. I loved my first one so much bought 3 others for my three young boys and set aside to be their first hunting knives when they come of age.

Thanks for the replies guys, its looking like go. Just one more thing, does anyone have a picof the sheath that it comes with? I haven't been able to find out what they look like.

I did a review of the 125 a while back - a search should turn it up. Pretty sure I included a pic of the sheath

Their sheaths are probably the best factory provided sheaths in the business. Here is my latest one with the sheath.

I like their knives in A-1 steel. I flip from looking at the 125 to going with an 1-7. I just recently purchased a Fallkiven F1 which sort of covers the same use niche as the Blackjack 125. I think they are worth the money.

The early classic blade Trailguide made in Effingham has a stacked leather handle. It has zipped through many a deer and holds an edge well. I have way too many knives but this is one that I probably won't part with. The stacked leather handle is warm and has a positive grip in the winter when it is cold. You can sharpen it and it will cut like a razor. It is not too big to carry around and in my opinion, it has a great do all shape to the blade from skinning to bushcraft. Kind of a small big knife. I also have the 1-7 with the carbon blade. I don't use it much at all. It also has the stacked leather handle.

I just bought a halo attack and I am quite pleased with it, great value for the money.
