I don't know anything about them and have certainly never owned one, yet. I keep looking at a model 125 and it sure is a good looking knife. Are there any Blackjack owners out there that could tell me about this knife?

I think they are made by brkt these days. They sure do make some pretty knives.

THey are nade by Mike Stewart of BRKT. The label was purchased from Mike by Blue Ridge Knives

I have 4 model 125's, 2 micarta, 1 leather, 1 stag and a 5th one on order. They're convexed A2, crazy sharp that I find easy to keep that way. Of course it's a knock- off, copy, of the Randall model 25, some find that offensive.

In general, I find the knife well done for the price point, a bargain really and would, and am, buying another one.

Having said that, there is a slight "dimple", "depression", on the blade. It's about mid-blade where the the edge grind and flat portion of the blade blend in with the swedge. It barely noticeable but it's there, apparently on all of them. Mike Stewart of BRKT, who make them for BlackJack, says it's normal and unavoidable with that type of grind and blade design.

A quick YouTube search should bring up a short video or two on the subject. The average person would never notice it, however, once it's been pointed out, you can definitely see it. I wish it wasn't there but it's really not a big deal, at least in my opinion.

FWIW, my "Stag" doesn't look that nice. One of the hazards of buying online, sight unseen. YMMV.

Anything else?

Edited: Here's a video showing the "dent".

Wow thanks for the replies and the thoughts. Yes they do have a Randal look to them but I think they are good looking knives. Never had one of this style so that is probably why I have held off. I was looking on line this morning and saw a video about the dimple thing but never clicked on it. Might have to check that out.

The 125 is a great knife - very underrated. I reviewed one here on Bladeforums some time back. It is still one of my favourite knives.

I have a Black Jack Halo Attack with the Border Patrol handle. Easily one of the prettiest knives I own. Obviously styled after a Randall fighter, I bought it from Mike Stuart himself while checking out his place in the western UP. He was very gracious to my friend and me who were in the area for the week doing some law enforcement related training.

He seemed to be a genuinely nice guy who takes great pride in his work. I was very impressed with the dedication shown by all the folks there. It's nice to see a well made American product can still be produced here. Great folks, great knives. I'm a fan. . .
