Does anyone know anything about the Blackjack Model (MK-) 4? It’s the one with the upswept blade and finger scallops on the handle.

I see it listed as being both A2 (which is what most Bark-River-made Blackjacks are), and also as unspecified “stainless”.

There seem to be hardly any photos of the reverse side of the blade, but the one I’ve seen (on the DLT listing) doesn’t show any marking of the steel type.

Does anyone know what steel these are, or otherwise have any firsthand experience with them?

Is this one of the John Ek designed models from the WW-II era? I know that Blackjack took over most of the EK designs back in the early 2Ks. I think that at first, they were just assembling them from existing parts. Now I have no idea. . . . .and tghey dropped the iconic Ek faceted handle on the "commando" daggers.

Bark River's A2 is good stuff. I bought a Bark River Professional Series Woodland model in A2 years ago and was highly impressed with its edge holding and corrosion resistance. Gifted it to a BIL who was looking for a good FB for whitetail hunting. The Professional series and Bradford's Guardian knives share some similarities.
