Both look nice. Hunter has AUS 8, Slick has AUS 10, both reputable, Blackjack is twice as much $$ and Hybrid Hunter has more cutting edge and perhaps grippier (kraton)....???? Help

I would go for the hybrid.
Aus8 and 10 are both good, but aus 10 is a bit harder to sharpen and a bit less corrosion resistant. The hybrid is made by seki which always had good products. For the price you can't go wrong and Neil did a good job on the design.

I used to have an OE Hybrid - loved the belly and the point, BUT the kraton was too soft and I could easily see that water / blood / guts bacteria were likely to seep in between the blade tang and the handle.

After washing the knife once I could see water beading up at the tang/handle junction - and the kraton is really squishy which is good for comfort and BAD for sealing the junction.

My 2 cents... if they made the knife with an injection moulded handle with kraton inserts like the Spyerderco Moran / Perrin, then it would be a winner.

Howdy!
I've got a BlackJack Small, which is a very similar knife to the Slick. It is quite simply the sharpest thing that I've ever held in my hand - including a bunch of high dollar customs.
Mine is the carbon steel version, which I would HIGHLY recommend over the stainless for all applications that don't include a salt water environment.
I don't know if any of this helps or not, but good luck !

How hard is it to resharpen the convex grind of the Blackjack?
