Has anyone had any experience with these 2 knives? What is the main difference between the "Small" and "Slick" which is the better? What about the steel AUS10 or 1095 cyro treated - would think 1095 the best?

The Slick and Small differ in blade profile. AUS-10 is a stainless steel of good quality. 1095 is not. It is a carbon steel with everything that goes along with that. I consider these Japanese made knives to be of excellent quality and great fit and finish. I like their size, too. It's a fixed blade that is easy to carry. My personal one is the Small with jigged bone handle. Very handy. Take care.

I own two of the Smalls. One is the maple handled version with 1095. The other is the new leather handled one in AUS-10. Both are extremely sharp and easy to keep sharp. The appleseed grind takes a bit of getting used to, but it holds its edge very well. The finish on the Japanese made version, in AUS-10, seems overall better than the US made 1095 version (I am sorry to say!). However they are both great knives for the money. The sheaths are really nice also.
