I have been thinking about buying a Blackjack Trailguide for a while but I am also thinking of buying an Entrek Cobra or the Emerson Police Utility Knife.
I am now carrying a Swamp Rat Howling Rat for EDC. but I its time for something new. I would greatly appreciate any feedback from any of you who have owned any of those 3 knives.
THANKS

I have an early howling rat and it is a well made strong knife with a nice hand feel to it. I have been asking around regarding the Trail Guide myself but information is scarce. I like the looks of the trail guide and have wondered how the hand feel is on the knife. I'm thinking it may be a good knife to rotate with the howler.

I love mine. The A2 tool steel was top of the line back when I bought it years ago and it stays sharp a long long time too, as long as I don't abuse it. It feels great in my hand as well. Not to mention the stag. Its just beautiful, not too many production companies handle their knives like this anymore.

only thing is... cost new is about 3 times what I paid for mine 15 or so years ago. it is 1095 steel instead of the A2 though.
