Morning Gents, Can anybody tell me the difference between the Blackjack 12_9 & the 129. The photos I have seen look different. Thanks, Cheers, Fritz.

I believe the 12-9 vs 129 is just different labeling for the same bowie type model. About a 9" blade, double guard, and generally A2 steel. Handles vary. What difference are you seeing between the two models? Basically it is the Model 12 with a 9 inchish blade (hence the '9').

Same knife. It's a copy of the Randall 12-9 Sportman's Bowie. What might make them look different is there are 2 handle shapes. Concave and Commando. I'm using the Randall nomenclature for the handle shapes because it's easier.

Well, they both have a clip blade, double guard and a handle.

The Blackjack (BJ) is not a copy, but it is similar. I have the BJ 1-7 and it is about as large as I want to go with BJ's.

That bottom Randall Thomas posted is a 12-9 #14 grind.

Here's a Sportsman that is close to the Blackjack copy -

Sportsman with Concave Handle.

Edit, and another -

Here's the Randall extra features page - https://www.randallknives.com/extra-features/ .

If one wanted one done up 99.9 % like the Blackjack Thomas pictured the order would be -

1) 12-9 Sportsman (regular grind)
2) Lugged Brass Guard
3) Brass Collar (smooth)
4) Concave Handle
5) Brass Cap

:).
