This is going to be some show! I had an idea and I consulted with a knife expert about it. My friend Newton Martin of http://www.martinknives.com/.

I had an older Chris Reeve Sebenza in BG42 steel that had been abused and needed some spa treatment and or something special done to it.

Well, I had recently gotten a Sebenza Insingo as well and sent the two out to Texas for this special secret squ1rrel treatment.

I will let the pics speak for themselves (obviously NOT my pics :bwah: )

Let me know what you, my fellow CRK users think :D

 or :thumbdn:

They look great but how durable is that coating? I hate the way knives look when the black stuff scratches off.

very cooolll!!! But how long will the coating last...also not being to forward, what the cost?

It is *drum roll please*

KG Industries Gun Kote, http://www.kgcoatings.com/ a product that ALL CRK fans should approve of

Thanks for the kind words. If you contact Newt he will take good care of you, tell him that Ron LaBella sent you!

Ron-

Interesting result,..I played with the idea of doing this a few years ago...thought about powdercoat...I left it alone because of the thickness that it would add to the surfaces. Example...the holes in the handle will shrink in size...etc...How much does gunkote add?

Looks great! Now engrave those handles for some neat contrast between the black and the Ti!!!

I do not have them in hand yet. I just could not wait to show the world the results! :D

*And give Newt his props*

Would love to see follow up pics after some use to see how they hold up. They look good. I'd be curious to see how they'd look with silver hardware to create a little contrast?

When that stuff starts scratching off send them to a master pimp like bigmark :D  ;) :)

I like the fact that you had the stones to do that...all that matters is that you like them ;)

Can you post a link to the thread on your forum....I'm guessing there are many positive posts there...for some reason i can't get on there. :D

Seriously, they look cool....it does look like he masked the edges instead of coating and regrinding...i could be mistaken...when you sharpen and put a nice mirrored edge and a fatter margin they will be super cool (IMO) :

BTW, your pic skill have come a long ways...long live bendibble. :)

My smilies are better anyways :D

I like the black handels and blade, but do not know if I would have coated the thumbstuds and spacers. It would give some nice colour IMO. But it still gets a  for effort!

I Like It....................................

Where Do You Put The Bullets In ? ;););) Rickster ;););)
