I just finished this Bowie and should have it in Kansas City.

The blade is 10 inches and is forged from some of DH III's W2 steel. The fittings are forged stainless. The handle is Stag with a bit of stacked Micarta.

Damn that is so nice.
Well done

A real beauty

The raised metal work around the ferrule is the crowning touch for me. Would you comment on how this was accomplished?

Thanks in advance, Fred

Sweet. I went back and looked at the knife twice to find the pearlI was expecting MOP in the handle. Then I saw the final!

Thanks guys.

It's a 3 piece spacer, the middle layer is a margin bigger and forged back down to capture the outside layers.

After all that I just clean it up and pin it together permanently.

Thank you Mr. Rhea. I am inspired. I appreciate the pictures.

This is what I love about knife making. It's an empty canvas waiting to be painted on. When someone goes the extra distance, working out a new technique, it really stands out.
We tend to be creatures of habit, its nice to see the exception.

Outstanding Lin. I love how you bring forging into different aspects of your work. Can't with to see this one.

...nevermind.

Needless to say, I am IMPRESSED!!!

I've been watching this one on Instagram. Just marvelous. I love the way you try new things.

Amazing knife!! It is inspiring to see how you naturally come to use forging as the solution at hand to realize those incredible implements.
I'm still a bit afraid when i use the hammer, whereas in your case it looks like it is a natural extension of your mind!! Brilliant!!
