I haven't seen any good detail shots of the apocalyptic Blackwash XM, so I took some of my own! Enjoy!

(I really like this first pic)

BT - good work on the pics!! I dig the background material too, seems fitting :)

Wow, that's fantastic.

Is that something you got from the Ranch or did yourself? This is the first time I'm seeing it.

If he had done it himself this thread would be moved or locked by now.

I hope that my FDE Slicer will someday naturally look similar to this.

Wow talk about adding character to a knife, that is a very sweet knife and pictures, thanks for the treat BT !

I think this has been said elsewhere but I agree... It reminds me of a perfectly broken in pair of your favorite jeans. As far as coatings go, I will pass on most. This would be an exception to that rule.

It's my first look at this finish and it is easily my favorite. So it's from the Ranch, but is it one off or a normal production finish? Does it come matte black and you wear it in or does it come distressed?

BT thanks for sharing.

We would lock a thread if he chose to put his black dlc knife in a pocket full of change and shake it? Good grief. That's the basic effect, you do realize that, correct? Put your fde in a sock full of nickels and shake. Rinse, repeat. It will look the same.....

Relocation is far more likely to locking....check the stickies...3rd party work is for other areas on BF...NOT this sub-forum.

What you described is normal stuff...what was suggested earlier seemed 3rd party "tinkering" idea(s).

I understand. Forcing "wear" on a knife is not third party work or "pimping" as some put it. If you like the look, try the spare change thing....seriously. Although, I would remove the blade and tape the edge to prevent chipping.

If anyone can duplicate this look with a pocket full of change and some shaking I'd like to see it.

No more hijacking of this thread on my part...done...Apologies.
