Sorry if this is an over used topic but..... I am having some difficulty achieving a great finish on african blackwood. I know from knife forums/magazines ect. that it can be brought to a great shine that is escaping me. I currently sand down to 600 grit then polish with Fabulustre on a dremel tool with felt bob. Some techniques that I have been told of sound good but I am unsure how well they would work in a user knife handle. If anybody could help this newbie out it would be greatly appreciated (I used the search function and did not get my problem answered).

You need a buffer that is fastend to a bench. Infact a bench grinder with a buffing wheel will work. 6", 8", or 10" wheel. Use a white or a pink no scratch buffing compound.

The dust from this wood can cause you some damade. I have a piece and rember reading a warning about it.
Cheers Ron,
