finally got this set finished up today. Between the olympics and mowing grass I haven't been around much. If they would put a grass mowing competiton in the olympics I believe I could metal. :D

Anyways, heres a mosaic set I finished up. I would say this is about as close to a matching set as I will ever get.
Bowie- Oal- 12 1/2" w/ 7 1/2" blade. N/S guard,spacers and pommel. 94 N/S pins and a a african Blackwood handle. The sheath is Black with the Brown Lizard skin inlay.
Hawk- OAL -17 3/4" ,head 5 7/8", cutting edge 3 1/4". Poured pewter caps, 94 N/S pins and a beautiful African Blackwood handle.

Bill, Think I'd call that a matching set! There both just stunning!

As far as the grass goes I'd gladly loan you a cow......
 
Man Bill, you just keep raising the bar! That is awesome and beautiful. The blackwood is beyond compare, the pins are wonderful, the pattern is striking and that sheath just blows me away. Fantastic!
 
Thank you all for the great compliments. I bought this stick of Blackwood about 2 yrs. ago with the plans of using it for a hawk, and now that I used it I sure wish I would have bought several more sticks this size. It sure is nasty to grind but well worth it in the end.

Ray, grain feed that four legged lawn mower for a few months and then send it down. :D . If you want you can just wrap it in white freezer paper and I'll pay shipping. :D

I swear Bill, you keep this up I'm going into model trains or something. That is a fantastic set, really beautiful. That bowie sheath is lizard skin...? I would have sworn it was ostrich. The whole set is beautiful...I'm gonna go out to my shop and hang my head for awhile now. :D ;) :D
 
Excellent pattern work, Bill. Really like the striations....also the pin work is very elegant.
 
Mr. B - you are truly amazing ... I give you a 10.0! (The Olympics have been great, haven't they? ;)) BEAUTIFUL damascus pattern and an awesome matching set.

I'm unable to judge the cutting of grass since your yard is bigger'n ours. :D

Outstanding work, I'm in awe! I don't know whick one I like better, they go together very well, a matched set indeed!
 
Holy cow, thanks for the 10.0 , nanc, their not giving many of them out, I've only seen 1 -10 given and it was in diving. :cool: Its not so much the yard size that should get me the metal, its the way I lean when going back and forth and then dodging the tree limbs at the same time. :D
