After all the flack i caught for the hardware on the last knife of this style here is something new. It has a 5" forged and differentially ht'd 1084 blade with a handrubbed finish african blackwood handle with stainless steel fittings. oal is 10.25" let me know what ya'll think.........Erik

Variety in materials is a good thing. Don't let others discourage you from using what your creativity dictates.
 
Handle and blade are nicely mated.

The guard stock seems a bit thick, some sculpting might be in order.

Steven, what do you mean by sculpting? i thought the guard was a little thick as well that is why i did the file work but it didn't seem to help.
 
Good clean lines. After the way you were attacked last time, I give you credit for a brave recovery. I agree that my eye is first drawn to that guard and it doesn't flow with the scale of the blade and handle. I don't have a solution to that, but you do make a beautiful knife eric.

Oh, it wasn't that bad the same ol' ration of S$#@@ i catch everytime i use brass. Just had to jab a little while i had the opportunity.:D
