Blackwood knives. My quest.

I did a little more knife looking today, this forum has rekindled my thirst for the artistic and practical uses of knives. Anyway, I happen to stumble upon a knife in another forum while searching for info on the Pocket Hobbit (which I am no longer interested in). The Blackwood "Skirmish". I must say, at first glance my mind instantly labed it 'fixed fighter'..upon closer inspection of the pictures I discover a belt clip..and see the folded immage. I was blown away. The creativity and taste OOZES from this knife like no other I've ever seen, I am in love with it. It is now my quest to have it, one way or another...theres one drawback, im not a stupid person, and by looking I can tell these aren't your run-of-the-mill knives, they look quite expensive. Before I embark on this journey, I would like to ask information of dealings with blackwood. I haven't searched yet like I should, im just too excited right now.

ANYTHING you can tell me about this knife is appreciated, price range, durability, anything! If anyone has this knife please post and tell me your experiences with it. Thank you for helping me in advance! -Hunter (Fireshaker)

I haven't dealt with Neil, but I agree that he has great designs and would love to one day own a Blackwood. Here's his site: http://www.blackwoodknives.com

Unfortunately his site indicates that he is currently not taking any custom orders so your quest may have to be put on hold for awhile.

ps...welcome to the forums...

My jaws also dropped when I found that the Skirmish actually is a folder!
It looks very nicely done ;)

Oh my, that is quite a knife to be sure.

A bit big for my tastes, but I could learn to live with it.

Anyone have any idea how much those will be selling for, if orders were being taken for them?

Richard,

Thank you for that link, it is most appreciated.

I sent off an email inquiring about the price, so I'll sit back & wait for the word.

The hidden pivot really appeals to me. The only other knife I know of that has this feature is my TOPS CQT 747 folder, and I really like it.

The Skirmish is quite a bit bigger than I think I would be comfortable carrying, but I'll probably talk myself into 'needing' one at the first available opportunity...:)
