I've been busy on a couple orders but finished off this lonely blade that had been on the bench for a couple months.

The blade is W2 with a very clear hamon. I have been experimenting with nugui and kanahada seems to work.

The handle is African Blackwood with a bronze guard and steel spacer.

The blade is 7 3/4" with an OAL of 12 3/4".

There are new elements on this one. The blade shape, handle shape and bronze are new ideas for me.

I tried a new background for the first shot. The last shot shows the handle a little better.

Thanks for looking.

Stuart,

A person could get lost wandering through that hamon. All your elements are working so nicely.

As an aside, just got back from looking at your website. Those are some beautiful creations.

Beautiful knife Stuart.
I like the contrast of the bronze.
Not to mention the super clean work and mesmerizing hamon.

excellent work, man!
and not quite as manly- tres elegante!
I see a similar handle/guard with a pointier blade in your future.

Thanks for the comments and thanks John for checking out my website.

@ Lorien.. ha... I wondered if the curves of the handle would get you and I agree on the pointy blade thing with this guard/handle. The profile of this blade is tough to get in these photos with the ground clip. The line drawing or outline shows the relationship between the line of the spine of the blade to the deeply plunging line of the edge. The swedge grind kind of pulls the two together.
After getting everything set up, I wondered about this with a slimmer blade and maybe even curved clip heading towards a persian blade.

YES!!! That's what I'm talkin about.

SBranson........Stuart........... I really don't know enough (term wise) to be as eloquent as some of the previous posters to express that you have created beautiful knife. I hope to be as talented someday.

PS- Love the slight foreword angle of the blade. She looks like a great slicing blade.

VERY nice Stuart. That hamon is just incredible. Nice materials on the handle and guard too.

Spectacular hamon - wow. Love the bronze guard as well.

Congrats on the nice little bit in Blade Magazine, by the way - that's some great exposure for you.

That hamon spoke to me so that I had to go to your website. Beautiful! Especially the hamons. Keep up the good work & keep posting.

Very nice Stuart! I second the motion on a persian with that handle.

I like the way the Hamon came out.It looks great in the pictures I can only imagine how great it looks in person.
