This is one of the fighters I've been fighting off and on for the last several days. 4" shear steel blade, wrought iron fittings, and a blackwood handle for a total of 9". I left the hawk in the dryer to long and it shrunk...... :D

Nice set there Ray. Is the reason you call it a fighting knife is because your fighting with it, cuz it looks like a paring knife to me. Gib

Ray, your bladework is fantastic but I have to say your handles ,specificly your fittings are right up there too. I really like this one.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen a single piece you've done that I don't like. Every one I've thought "Jeez, I hope he brings that to Blade!"

Ummm, keep the wife happy. I don't think that 'hawk would be a match for the knife.

geez ray where do you get that beautiful shear steel??? man i'd love to find me some of that. any certail ways to find it? or types of cutting tools to look for that ay be made of it. i know you were checkin out that old saw blade at IG's house. but that wa sno luck

I'm with Michael, I sure like that shear steel. So much in fact, that I wouldn't even clay harden it, so then the entire blade would have that pattern (or would it?).
As always, great work Ray!

im loving your work more and more Ray...it has an old world style all its own!Great looking pieces Brother!

Every time I see a thread with "Shear Steel" or "Wrought Iron" in the title my heartbeat steps up a notch cause I know I'm going to see "Raymond Richard" under it and I know what that'll do for my day... And I'm always right!

That is beautiful Ray, and the little hawk, while a bit overshadowed by that fine knife, is no peanuts either. You just blow me away, thanks for sharing and making my day what I now know it's going to be - perfect.

I'm not quite awake yet but its nice waking up to the positive comments. Dave Larsen, I'm not sure what your line of work is other than making some fine knives but if I could afford myself a sales person you'd be the one!

Ray, they look great, but then we've come to expect that from you. I realy like your style with the WI and shear steel, nice combination and flow.

Lookin Good MR HAWKMAN. But if you keep making them toy hawks, I'm going to start calling you LITTLE HAWKMAN. :D :D

NICE WORK AS ALWAYS,

Bill

I didnt know you were a poet. This knife is a damn good poem after all. Hawk is adorable sweet also. Thanks for showing, it's a privilege to see these, I cant imagine how would I feel if I handled them....
