hey guys. im looking to go to my first Blade show at Blade 08 and i was wondering about how much it costs to stay the entire weekend. like motel costs, on average and the like. i know what my knife budget would like to be, but i need enough to actually get there.

so howmuch should i save up in order to get down there and stay all 3 days? im thinking around $500-$600 all told, but im prolly wrong.

thanks guys

Cost is highly dependent upon where you stay. If you are willing to drive a mile or two you can save some significant dollars. (Show parking is free.) If you can afford it, the hotel at the Exhibition Center is where the action is, but you can't approach the entire show for $600 staying there, if you are including meals and incidentals. A web search of the immediate area will turn up lots of options.

I have never stayed at the Westlin, but since I have to keep close tabs on my handicapped daughter, missing the night life is no big deal to me.

are you going as a maker or just to see the show???it is exspensive but fun.look around for motels close by most have a shuttle that runs back and forth..the Waverly were it is held is way over prised for a room

I'd sleep in my car, and eat Ramen, if it meant more money to spend at the show on knives. Luckily, I am a little over a hour away from the show.

There is actually a lot of fun after the show at what is called "The Pit", which is the bar in the same hotel as the show. A lot of knifemakers hang out there, along with other show attendees, and talk knives.

I would rather go a lil but out of the way to save some money thats for sure. i would love to stay where the show is being held, but i know i will not have the money. i'll see what i can find in the area.
