FYI
When I called to book my room last year, there were some problems with the reservations computer system. For some reason, I was put through to the Reservations Director. After he took my info, he told me the "group rate" would be $XXX.XX - about $20. LESS than what I knew the BLADE "group rate" to be! I asked him why that was and he replied: "Aren't you with"___ Group"?" I said , No, I was going to BLADE Show and he then revised the rate back up to the Blade "group rate". I asked him why the other group had a lower rate - did they have MORE rooms booked than Blade had requested? He said, No, in fact they had quite a smaller group. I asked him why they would then get a lower rate than we got and he laughed and replied: "I guess they had a better negotiator!"
I posted about this last year after Blade 2006. I don't care about a buck or two either way, but $20 a night less is quite nice, for three nights. I'm just wondering if we ARE getting the best rate at the Waverly?
