A big “thank you” to Rick, Rob, Rob and everyone at Hinderer for the opportunity to participate in the lottery this past weekend at Blade. Susan, my wife, and I did not know where the lottery was to be held on Friday. At about 5 till 4pm we made our way over to the Hinderer booth and saw Rick walking toward the back side of the main hall. We tucked in behind Rick and let him know we were going to follow him to “his” lottery since we felt confident he knew where he was going.
We each had a ticket and like many were somewhat skeptical that we would to hear our name called. Then it happened; Rick called out my wife’s name! Let me tell you, that moment is a little surreal. Not anticipating this, we had not previewed the selection of folders. When we arrived at the table, we asked Rob and Rob for a quick assessment. Well, as you will see below, this is the beauty we selected.
We just never thought either of our names would be called. A lesson for the guys out there… “bring a wife – get a knife”. I left the show with two beauties that day.
I hope the pics show just how nice this Hinderer custom is. The grinds are fantastic, the action is silky smooth, and blue anodized areas really set it off. Thanks again to Hinderer and it was great to see everyone. Hope your name will be called soon at an upcoming show. Enjoy the pics.

Rob, if you get a chance, please let me know the steel used in this blade and is the slab G-10 or carbon fiber. Thanks.

Steve

I don't even know what to say that will be honest, legal to say on a Forum and still get my point across so I'll try, "Holy $h!t Man Congrats! on that trip!! Holy Crap!!

Congrats on your score Steve! There aren't a lot of two tone anodized frames out there and the "Hellfire" tanto grind is one of Rick's best. If the steel is unmarked it is Duratech 20CV and that scale appears to be carbon fiber.

Thanks guys. We are still a little stunned and feel very fortunate.
Also, thanks Hammer for the update on the steel and scale.

Wow! I mean...just...WOW! handrubbed anno'd, hellfire, custom. I'm blown away. What a score man.

I cannot hold my tongue on this one. Darn nice score, to say the least.
And others have said it, looking at that scale it screams textured carbon fiber to me.

Aaaah... ya know... I think you're right.. I see it, I mean me. H e l l o.....

Some of my best and most agreeable conversations are had staring into reflective surfaces.:eek:

Back on topic....very attractive custom. I'm digging the blue on the frame edges with the hand rubbed sweetness of the lockside and blue accent pieces. Nice.
