What should I use to oil/lube my EDCs (Para 2, 940) blades and pivots that is safe to use even when prepping food with the blade?
I heard mineral oil is good, is that right?

mineral oil is great, also froglube is fine as well. I'm sure there are others just don't remember off of the top of my head =)

Ballistol is foodsafe, skin friendly and mineral oil based. It has some additives (some kind of alcohol) that make it mix with water so even when put on a wet knife the water can evaporate along with the alcohol (other oil will trap moisture). It can even be used on minor cuts on the skin.
Sounds like a commercial but I really love this stuff!

don't use frog lube for your pivot, but will work to coat the blade. use mineral oil for the pivot. you can also find food safe grease for pivots too.

Alternatively, you can replace phosphor bronze washers with Teflon washers and use the knives without lubricant.

Pharm-grade Mineral Oil is all I use on blades that get near food.

Widely available at any store that has a pharmacy section, under laxatives, about $3 a pint.

Another vote for mineral oil. Completely food safe, and good for all lubricating and cleaning/moisture-sealing purposes. It's also good for conditioning any kind of wooden tools, particularly kitchenware like cutting boards.
