I am not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes.
I am new at the knife collection, repair, maintenance snd fabrication process.
I am just starting out on this wonderful journey. I grew up with my male relatives all carrying Schrade and case knives. Since Schrade is more economical for me to pursue I am going there.
I am having a lot of trouble finding replacement parts for some knives so I have decided to try my hand at fabricating some parts)such as blades, springs, scales other small pieces.
Finding these are a real Pain in the rear
I want to make them but need some guidance on where to get the material to start the process
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Roy

If you want to make blades and (especially) springs, you're going to need to learn how to harden and temper steel. There are some good blacksmithing forums online ("I Forge Iron" is one) whose members may be helpful, and you might try the "Shop Talk" forum here...

One thing to note about schrades, nearly all of them use swindon key construction, which is more difficult to work with imo.
You might look into that before deciding on schrade.

If I could find a supplier of one blanks and springs I would go that way

Schrade has been out of business for a long time. There are no suppliers of parts.
