In early March, the Blade Brothers Knives Infantry model showed up here in Canada, direct from Ukraine.
I didn't feel like waiting till I could get out to the woods proper to begin using it, so I took it out to a spot where the city cuts the trees down anyway to try and keep the homeless from camping there. Chopped down dead, rather hard thorn tree:
Here it is in the stump of another thorn tree (if I recall correctly):
Well, this past Saturday I managed to get out to the woods with a couple of friends.
First, time to fuel up with coffee and a breakfast sandwich:
Now that in the woods, time to put it through its paces...starting with another dead, seasoned tree:
My friend found an arrow shaft while scrounging for kindling, despite hunting being forbidden in this area...
Peeling the bark from what will became the ham and sausage skewer:
Looks decent with a bit of fire in the background. That little fire took WAY more effort than it should have; day was surprisingly damp.
