Blade centering on 0350

Just got my first ZT blade, a 0350. So far I like it a lot, it's built like a tank! The blade is a little off-center though, and I was wondering if there is an easy way to fix this. I'm not opposed to some disassembly, but I want to know what I'm looking for once it's disassembled. Thanks!

Sometimes you can adjust the pivot screw a little to adjust the centering. If you loosen it too much, though, you might end up with some blade play.

The center channel on the 0350 is just very slightly wider than the blade itself, so there really isn't much margin for error. Mine is a little off center as well, and the blade is rubbing up against the liner just ever so slightly. Not really a big deal for me, as the blade will likely take on more scratches with use. But if there is an easy fix I can do without shipping it back, I'd be up for trying.

Centering:

Rub mark on blade:

Loosen the pivot screw
Loosen the body screws
Move the blade over to the opposite side (opposite of which side it favors)
Jam a folded piece of paper, card board... Anything that will make it stay there
Tighten the pivot all the way
Tighten all of the body screws evenly, switching sides in between
Pull the folded paper out
Adjust the pivot to your preferred tension

This has worked for me on a lot of knives, providing the pivot holes are drilled straight, washers are the same etc...
Worked on my 0350 when I had it, you may have to do it a few times. This may also change the lock up. Usually make it earlier since the scales were not aligned.

+1 for the folded paper trick I do it every time I disassemble a knife. It cuts down on a lot of frustration.

Paper trick works good for me. Good luck and welcome to the forums! If you like the 350 alot check out and vote for the 360 in my signature! It has a pointier tip!

Another vote for the folded paper! I found this trick, on this forum, when I got my first knife in a long time and it was off center. It works very well. I still have a couple of knives that it didnt work for completely, but it did get it further away from touching the liner. Good Luck, and welcome to the Forums!

I'l have to remember this. I picked up my first 0350TSST yesterday at a gunshow. The blade is a little off center but doesn't seem to be rubbing. I'll keep an eye on it.

I just removed the torsion bar from my 0350 and since the blade was a little off to start with I tried the paper trick and it didn't seem to do anything. The blade is not rubbing, but its not centered.
Should I worry about it?

If it isn't rubbing, and you can live with it, I wouldn't worry about it. Despite what the rants by some people would lead you to believe, the blade sitting slightly off center does not affect performance in any way. ;)

The blade on my 350 is rubbing now. I have loosened all the screws and used the paper trick and all I've done is make it worse. It was fine until I removed the torsion bar and tried to tweak it a couple of times, could I have done something to the blades angle when the scales were off?
Should I take everything apart again and start over?

I too tried this trick on my recently received 350sw, and it now seems to rub even more. I tried it a few times with no luck. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions?
