The blade on my Benchmade 940 was slightly uncentered (less than 0.5mm, but noticeable on that tiny space) and I remembered reading tips in the Rick Hinderer forum about the procedure to center the blade on the XM-18.
I decided to try something similar on the BM940. What I did was simply to loosen up the screws that hold the handle together (there are two on the BM940), then push the blade towards the direction I wanted and then tighten the screws again (the one farther from the pivot first) while still keeping the pressure on the blade.
Well, it worked! Unfortunately, I don't have anymore uncentered blades to test this procedure on, so I don't know if it was just luck or if it really works for any uncentered blade. Could you guys try it and post results please?
PS: The only thing that the XM-18 procedure added to what I did was to completely tighten the pivot screw in the beginning, open the knife at a 90 degree angle and apply pressure to the blade in this position.
